Georgia Baseball

Through my assistantship with UGA Athletics, I worked closely with the baseball team to help define their brand and stand out on social media. I wanted to take a "classic americana" approach I felt was inherent to baseball. This effort started on social media, but eventually made its way onto the field in the form of new uniforms.

One of the first things I did with the team was create this 'Bulldogs' wordmark. The 'Milestone script' font was in use by our other teams, and matched up well with the classic baseball aesthetic. I was worried the compliance team would take issue to this, but surprisingly everyone was cool with it. I started using it throughout the graphics, mostly as a watermark at first, and it helped set the tone for the approach I would take for the rest of the season.

Taking advantage of some downtime in the offseason, I decided to mock up my vision for a new on-field look. Using the wordmark across the chest, the vintage 'G' caps worn during the last college world series, and an off-white color scheme

I started sharing these designs with the rest of the creative team and some of the coaches to generate some buzz. Eventually, one day in the winter, my boss tells me that the equipment team would like to see the design files. I didn't want to believe it at first, but I happily sent along the designs.

It had always been a dream of mine as a designer to one day create official uniforms for a team, so it was hard to contain my excitement. Months went by without word from anyone on the uniforms status and I was starting to get worried. But then, just before conference play started in 2023, the uniforms arrived and my dreams became reality.

These uniforms are now their official Sunday alternate jerseys. They were well received by the fans, and people are constantly asking me where they can buy one for themselves. To date, this has been the project that I am by far the most proud of.
